Community Engagement

There are so many worthwhile causes to support, and Holy Trinity has chosen to help a number through donations and other activities.
Pastoral Care

Holy Trinity is blessed with a small parish composed of people who, through belief in Christ, see pastoral care as an integral part of the ministry of the Baptized.

Many members of our parish participate in this ministry in some fashion, either through phone calls, visits or cards.  The comfort and care committee remain committed to providing support and visits to the shut in.

The Music Ministry also shares its love of Christian music with the community, visiting personal care homes and leading in song for those who are unable to attend services.

World Vision

Holy Trinity currently sponsors a child in Zambia.  Telesia lives with her mother, father, brother and two sisters.  Her community of Katete receives a great deal of support from World Vision, including  much needed school supplies, education,  wells and health care.

Embracing the Community

Holy Trinity supports the following organizations:

Union Gospel Mission:  The Mission's Executive Director says, "God has a heart for the poor and we are here to help them.  Wherever God will lead us and whoever He brings through our doors - we just want to love them and tell them, 'There is hope. There is hope and His name is Jesus.' " Union Gospel Mission is a Christian organization with many programs:  Family Ministry, Children & Youth, Christian Education, Addictions, and Street Ministry.  On the first Sunday of the month, donations are made to Union Gospel Mission, alternating each month with donations to West Broadway Community Organization.

Diocesan Uganda Orphan's Fund:  Because of HIV/AIDS, civil war and malaria, millions of Ugandan children are parentless.  Caring for orphans in central Uganda falls on the shoulders of relatives, leaving some with the impossible task of providing for upward of 15 to 20 children.  Older children are often left to take on the responsibility of raising their younger siblings.  By supporting education, the Uganda Orphan's Fund is able to help provide an opportunity that orphaned children may not otherwise receive.  Basic tuition is paid for by the government up to grade seven, but the additional costs for uniforms, lunches, examinations, school supplies and building funds are not provided.

St. Matthews Maryland Community Ministry:  Has been loving its west end neighbours, some of the most vulnerable people in our city, for over 40 years.  Providing a safe, comfortable and accepting "home away from home", they welcome people who otherwise would be hungry and lonely.

West Broadway Community Organization:  The West Broadway Community Organization is a not-for-profit, charitable organization working to coordinate and support renewal efforts in Winnipeg's West Broadway neighbourhood.  Holy Trinity has established a donation schedule on the first Sunday of every month where we contribute many food products to their pantry to assist this organization's drive to help the needy; this alternates each month, in turn, with donations to Union Gospel Mission.

Siloam Mission:  A connecting point between the compassionate and Winnipeg's less fortunate, Siloam Mission is a Christian humanitarian organization that alleviates hardships and provides opportunities for change for those affected by homelessness.
